CALeDNA and the Paleogenomics Lab showed their stuff at the Genomics Institute Party

The Paleogenomics Lab and the CALeDNA program ran interactive booths at the Genomics Institute Party, raising awareness about the need for more genomes of California native species and more environmental DNA surveys powered by citizen and community scientists.

We created cylinders of coast and forest biodiversity suspended in clear gel to illustrate that water and soil carry DNA from the whole environment. We created ransom posters for reference genomes. We had real stuffed mountain lions to feature research in the Shapiro Lab. It was awesome.
